Chinese lanterns

I love the colours that nature creates at this time of year, from deep browns and rusts to warm yellows and oranges. That's why I enjoyed designing this Chinese lantern print for my Spoonflower shop, that comes in shades of yellow, orange and red with deep green leaves.

This print would look great as a wallpaper on a statement wall in the home. There are a choice of wallpaper types in my Spoonflower shop, from peel and stick to a gorgeous grasscloth. You can even buy it as a metallic finish in either silver or gold!

This Chinese lantern print would also look great on tableware. I'm loving the round tablecloth but there are also square and rectangular options.

If a tablecloth is not your thing, these placemats are a nice option. They are made from a cotton linen canvas and come in a set of two.

For pre-dinner drinks, these cute cocktail napkins are perfect. They are also made from a cotton linen canvas and come in a set of four.

 

Wild grasses

 I'm loving this wild grasses print in my Spoonflower shop. It comes in a number of colour palettes and this blue version has a calming effect that is great for using in the home.

It's the perfect print to use in the bedroom and this sheet set is a good way to start. It's made from a cotton sateen fabric that softens in the wash. It comes in a variety of sizes and includes a fitted sheet, a flat sheet and pillow cases.

The duvet cover is also made from a cotton sateen fabric and has a hidden zipper closure.

Accessorise your living space with this cosy throw blanket. It comes in two options, either in a minky fabric or in a performance velvet fabric. Each is double sided with white top stitching and measures 50 inches x 70 inches.

Another way to accessorise your living space is with these throw pillows which come in a variety of different fabrics from linen cotton canvas to performance velvet.

Tree lover

This pretty pouch is the perfect gift for the tree lover or gardener in your life. It's made from a fabulous stylised tree print in shades of green, yellow and grey.

This cute little zipper pouch is lined in a yellow and white cotton polka dot fabric and has a white zipper closure to keep everything safe.

Use it as a handbag organiser to keep smaller things in one place in your handbag. It's big enough to fit phone, sunglasses and keys in.

I love this stylised print and it's full of detail.

This pouch can also be used as a pencil case or makeup bag. It's machine washable so easy to clean if you get any spills on it.

Beautiful botanicals

One of the recent Spoonflower design challenges was called Neutral Botanicals and I chose to recolour my wild grasses print in this soft colour palette of beige, coral, terracotta and sage on a cream background.

The print was designed to be printed onto Spoonflower's latest wallpaper texture which is called grasscloth and has a lovely canvas feel to it.

It would look great on the walls of a living room.

 

Woodland home decor

I recently tried a new colouring for my woodland woodblock leaf print and am loving the teal and chartreuse colour combo.

This print would look great as a circular table cloth.

The foxes and houses print comes on a lovely deep teal background.

Create some drama in the home with these fabulous pre-made curtains.

Mini leaf springs sit on a light teal background.

They make pretty cocktail napkins for a pre-dinner drink.

Cute foxes sit on a dark teal background and are surrounded by foliage.

I love this fox print used on these ready-made placemats.

Calathea Sanderiana

 Meet Marcel! He's my niece's plant and I was taken by his dark shiny leaves that have a delicate thin pink vein running through them. Marcel's technical name is calathea sanderiana but it is also known as a pinstripe calathea. These plants like moderate, dappled shade and are happiest in the bathroom where there is moisture in the air.

I liked Marcel's leaves so much that I decided to design a print for my Spoonflower shop.

It would look great as a wallpaper print in an entrance hall. Match the colour of the front door to the colour of the light pink veins.

This print would make a great backdrop for one of my pot plant artworks.

Yellow clutch bag

This rather fabulous satin clutch bag is made from the wild grasses print I created for my Spoonflower shop and once printed onto a satin fabric, it truly shines! The satin brings out the colour so well and I matched the acid green of the foliage with the lining and the tassel detailing. 

Look up close and you can see butterflies and bees fluttering amongst the foliage.

The lining fabric is just as rich as the outer fabric and adds a nice contrast.

This evening purse is big enough to fit all the essentials for a night out and would make a great wedding clutch.

Satin scarf

 I recently designed a print for one of the Spoonflower design challenges which was called Wild Grasses. I was inspired by the delicate grasses found in the countryside and included butterflies, dragonflies and bees amongst the foliage.

For this print, I used a background colour of teal with lighter tones of green and turquoise for the foliage and insects.

I've since had this design printed up onto a lovely satin fabric, perfect for making into decorative scarves.

The satin is lovely and soft and really brings out the colour of the print.

This scarf makes a great gift for someone special - it comes gift wrapped in pink tissue paper and an optional gift message can be added at the checkout. It can also be sent straight to its recipient.
