Veggies

 I have a lot of veggie designs in my Spoonflower shop! It started with this vegetable print that includes all sorts of veggies that you might find in an allotment. I loved the bright colour palette of the scarlet red tomatoes, vibrant orange carrots and bright green of the beans and broccoli. Putting it on a teal background enhanced the colours even more.

I then decided to isolate dome of my favourite vegetables. In this carrot print the carrots stand to attention in wobbly rows, creating a stripe design.

Radishes a re such a stunning colour and have pretty green leaves. The brown background of this radish print shows off their colours beautifully.

The vegetable print can also be found on a white background, which is clean and fresh.

And last, but not least, the pretty pea design!

All of these patterns can be found in my Spoonflower shop on a wide variety of fabrics which are great for using in home sewing projects. The linen cotton canvas option is great for using as tea towels or cushion covers. The cotton lawn is great for dressmaking, and the cotton sateen makes a great napkins and tablecloths. If you don't fancy getting creative there is also a wide selection of ready-made items.

Yellow bunting

 I'm gradually building up a selection of bunting in my Etsy shop. This version uses a colour palette of mustard yellows and white.

The main fabric of this bunting is a fabulous vintage 1970s fabric made from a stylised floral print in shades of mustard, brown and green on a white background. I picked up this fabric from an antique market and think it looks great as bunting. It could be used to decorate the home or a kid's bedroom, or would be great for decorating a party.

Each floral flag alternates with a mustard yellow cotton flag. One is a dark mustard...

... and the other is a light mustard.

Each flag is double sided and is made from 100% cotton so machine washable too.

Blue and white bunting

I'm loving my new venture into bunting-making and the latest batch to arrive in my Etsy shop is this pleasing blue and white version. It's made from a selection of Indigo-hued cotton fabrics, each with a different print but within the same colour feel.

The bunting consists of eight flags and the length of the bunting is approximately three metres long. It includes a pretty floral vine print that has a block print feel.

Some of the flags have been patchworked together and includes a few solid blue cottons as well as a pretty dragonfly print.

Each of these prints are stylish and would make a great addition to the home. Use this bunting to decorate the living room or kitchen, or save it of a garden party or birthday celebration.

The flags are double-sided and are machine washable too.

Unicorn forest

 I created this design recently for my Spoonflower shop and decided to call it Unicorn Forest. Stylised trees surround jaunty unicorns that have been created in a stylised folk style and it uses a simple, fresh blue and white colour palette.

The unicorn print looks great on this sheet set and adds a touch of quirkiness to the bedroom, especially for a kid's bedroom. It includes a flat sheet, a fitted sheet and two pillow cases. Available in six different sizes to cater to all needs!

I had so much fun designing this unicorn print that I decided to colour up other prints in my shop to match it. I have a lot of leaf prints on offer and this stylised leaf print was my first choice. It includes oak leaves, gingko leaves and sycamore leaves in tones of blue and white.

The leaf print would look great on bedding such as duvet covers. This pretty leaf print duvet cover is made from a cotton sateen fabric and comes in three different sizes.

I've also created a fern print in the same colour palette which includes varying shades of the same blue colour. The print is multi-directional which means it could be used for a number of different household items.

The fern print looks great on curtains for the home and would be a great addition to the bedroom. These come in three different lengths and are available in two different cotton canvas fabrics.

Floral bunting

 I've been busy adding bunting to my store and am loving the outcome so far. I have a mixture of floral bunting including this cute version using a happy purple colour palette.

The main fabric I've used is a pretty purple floral fabric inspired by the designs of Liberty. It includes shades of pink, turquoise and yellow to give it a happy feel. The floral has been matched with two plain purple fabrics in two different shades and the bunting is held together with a white cotton twill binding. This bunting is made from 100% cotton and is machine washable.

This bunting is double-sided and is a great way of decorating the home, either in the living room or as decoration for a child's bedroom. It's also a great way of decorating a birthday party or using at a garden party. The bunting is approximately three metres long and includes eight flags - four floral flags, two dark purple flags and two light purple flags.

Lilly of the valley

 I recently created this lily of the valley print for my Spoonflower shop. It's a stylised design and includes flowers and leaves in a pleasing turquoise and teal colour palette.

This lily of the valley print looks great on bedding. The duvet cover is made from a soft sateen fabric and comes in three different sizes.

The sheet set is also a nice way of adding colour to the bedroom. It comes in six size options and includes a fitted sheet, a flat sheet and pillow covers.

The throw blanket is a nice way of adding colour to the bedroom or living room and comes in two cosy fabric options.

I also designed this print in a fresh green colour palette, which would look great on tableware in the home.

The dinner napkins come in a selection of fabric finishes and come as a set of two.

The tablecloth adds a zing of pattern and colour to any dining occasion and comes insecure, rectangle and oval, of varying sizes.

For a more subtle addition to the table, try this table runner. It's made from cotton sateen and comes in a selection of three lengths.

African bunting

I've been busy making bunting recently and I'm loving the outcome. This set of bunting is made from some vibrant African fabrics that I have in my collection. They come in shades of red, orange and black and make a great statement.

Before I started cutting out the bunting shapes I decided to patchwork a variety of fabrics together, which creates a really vibrant array of colour.

I've used a variety of colours and patterns within each flag. And I've varied the scale of each design too.

Batik-style prints sit alongside more geometric prints.

The colours work really well together and come in autumnal shades. This bunting would be great as party decor but could also be used to decorate the home.

All bunting is gift wrapped in pink tissue paper and can be sent straight to its recipient with an optional gift message included.

Totally tropical toile

 The latest design challenge for Spoonflower is called 'Toile with a twist' and I decided to use a tropical theme for my entry, calling it Tropical Toile. I've included zebras and leopards surrounded by tropical foliage in a fresh green and white colour palette. You can vote for my design here.

This print would look great as a wallpaper. Spoonflower offers a range of different wallpaper options from pre-pasted, peel-and-stick and vinyl, to more premium finishes such as a textured grasscloth or stunning metallic finishes.

Look up close and you can see the hand-drawn effect of the design. I added a light wash to areas of the design to give it some depth.

It would look great on a statement wall in the bedroom, and if you really love the print, you could buy it as a duvet cover with matching sheets too!

The vinyl version is wipe-clean and perfect for hight traffic areas such as the kitchen or in the hallway.

Art deco floral

The latest Spoonflower design challenge is 'Art Deco' where we have been welcomed to use bold, decadent designs reflecting the Jazz Age. This includes geometric designs, with bold curves and sleek lines. I decided to take the floral route and created this teal Art Deco floral with stylised flower shapes and trailing leaves. I added touches of mustard and cream for a contrasting colour and I'm really pleased with the final result! You can vote for my design here.

This Art Deco design would look great as a wallpaper print and is available in my Spoonflower shop on a wide variety of finishes, from pre-pasted and peel-and-stick to fabulous metallic gold and metallic silver options.

The Art Deco print looks great in the bedroom and would look good as a statement wall. The other walls could be painted in a matching deep teal colour and even the ceiling, to create a cocoon feeling.

The metallic Art Deco options look stunning and this could work so well with a wall lamp that would cast a dramatic glow on the wall.
