Wild grasses

I'm loving this wild grasses print in my Spoonflower shop. It comes in a number of colour palettes and this blue version has a calming effect that is great for using in the home.

It's the perfect print to use in the bedroom and this sheet set is a good way to start. It's made from a cotton sateen fabric that softens in the wash. It comes in a variety of sizes and includes a fitted sheet, a flat sheet and pillow cases.

The duvet cover is also made from a cotton sateen fabric and has a hidden zipper closure.

Accessorise your living space with this cosy throw blanket. It comes in two options, either in a minky fabric or in a performance velvet fabric. Each is double sided with white top stitching and measures 50 inches x 70 inches.

Another way to accessorise your living space is with these throw pillows which come in a variety of different fabrics from linen cotton canvas to performance velvet.

If you're feeling brave, why not use it as wallpaper on a statement wall, Surround yourself with nature.

There are a variety of wallpaper options, from peel and stick to a textured grasscloth or even a metallic silver option.

Wild flower bedding

A recent Spoonflower design challenge was called 'Garden Bedding' so I decided to channel rewilding and cottage gardens with this hand-drawn multi colour wild grasses print on a fresh white background.

It looks great on this duvet cover! The perfect print for a spring bedroom refresh.

Beautiful botanicals

One of the recent Spoonflower design challenges was called Neutral Botanicals and I chose to recolour my wild grasses print in this soft colour palette of beige, coral, terracotta and sage on a cream background.

The print was designed to be printed onto Spoonflower's latest wallpaper texture which is called grasscloth and has a lovely canvas feel to it.

It would look great on the walls of a living room.

Mix and match

I love it when items match in my shop. This wasn't planned but I love the fact that this clutch bag and coin purse go together so well.

The clutch bag is made from a print I designed for my Spoonflower shop and I had it printed onto a satin fabric and then I made it up into a clutch bag with a green tassel detail.

The bag has a green taffeta lining that matches the green of the grasses on the outer print. I've also used the same green tassel as decoration.

This wild grasses print can be bought by-the-metre in my Spoonflower shop or bought as ready-made items such as bedding and home furnishing.

The coin purse is made from a yellow/green cotton leaf print and is perfect for storing small change in.

Alternatively use this cutie to store earphones or AirPods in. The purse is lightly padded.

Yellow clutch bag

This rather fabulous satin clutch bag is made from the wild grasses print I created for my Spoonflower shop and once printed onto a satin fabric, it truly shines! The satin brings out the colour so well and I matched the acid green of the foliage with the lining and the tassel detailing.

Look up close and you can see butterflies and bees fluttering amongst the foliage.

The lining fabric is just as rich as the outer fabric and adds a nice contrast.

This evening purse is big enough to fit all the essentials for a night out and would make a great wedding clutch.

If you'd rather make your own creations from this print, head to my Spoonflower shop where you can buy this on a variety of colours on a selection of different fabrics.

Teal satin scarf

I designed this print for my Spoonflower shop and decided to have it printed onto a satin fabric which gives the design a beautifully rich feel, perfect for making into decorative scarves.

This scarf makes a great gift for a loved one and comes gift wrapped in pink tissue paper. It can be sent directly to its recipient with an optional gift message included.

Use it as a scarf around the neck, drape it around the shoulders or use it as a headscarf.

You can also buy this print on a variety of fabrics or as ready-made items in my Spoonflower shop.

Satin scarf

I recently designed a print for one of the Spoonflower design challenges which was called Wild Grasses. I was inspired by the delicate grasses found in the countryside and included butterflies, dragonflies and bees amongst the foliage.

For this print, I used a background colour of teal with lighter tones of green and turquoise for the foliage and insects.

I've since had this design printed up onto a lovely satin fabric, perfect for making into decorative scarves.

The satin is lovely and soft and really brings out the colour of the print.

This scarf makes a great gift for someone special - it comes gift wrapped in pink tissue paper and an optional gift message can be added at the checkout. It can also be sent straight to its recipient.

Wild grasses home decor

My wild grasses print looks fabulous on these home decor items and I'm so pleased with the outcome. Bees, butterflies and dragonflies buzz around the natural grasses on a soft teal ground.

The ready made curtain panel comes in a selection of lengths and you can choose between two thicknesses of canvas.

The cushion covers also come in a variety of sizes and fabric choices.

You can buy fabric by the yard and make your own creative project. I'm planning on buying this print on a satin fabric and creating some delicious clutch bags from it. Watch this space.

These napkins would look pretty on an al fresco dining table. You can also buy table runners and tablecloths in this print.

Why not create a statement wall with this wallpaper print? You could paint corresponding walls in a complimentary colour such as as the lighter teal of the butterflies.

This throw blanket comes in an ultra soft velvet or a minky fabric.

Wild grasses

Spoonflower regularly sets design challenges and this week's challenge is called Wild Grasses, to celebrate Earth Month. This is my entry, inspired by hand drawn sketches I did of wild grasses and I decided to add some butterflies, dragonflies and bees as well. It was really pleasing to design and the hardest part was deciding which colour palette to submit as I loved all of them. After much deliberation (and help from family members) I went with the light teal version, but each one has its own appeal. Which one do you prefer?!
