Herb heaven

During September I dipped into the @ellolovey drawing challenge on Instagram. It's great for getting the creative juices flowing and nice to design something for myself. Many of the designs I create for these drawing challenges also end up being used in my Redbubble shop and in my Spoonflower shop.

One of the prompt words for September was 'herbs' so I drew this collection of my favourite herbs on a textured blue background which you can find on my @cheekyleopard Instagram page. It includes rosemary, sage and dill.

From the initial illustration, I then created a repeat pattern with can be found by-the-metre in my Spoonflower shop as well as on a wide selection of ready-made items.

This print looks great on an apron, available in my Redbubble shop. It makes a great gift for a chef or avid home cook. The print also comes as a spiral notebook, perfect for jotting down inspiring recipes. This would make a great gift combo for the foodie in your life!

 

Self-Care Awareness Month

 September is Self-Care Awareness Month, a time to look after ourselves and reconnect with the things that make us happy. One of the things that makes me happy is to surround myself with plants.

I love the freshness that plants give to a room and the colour of their leaves lifts my spirits.

This inspired me to design a pot plant print for my Spoonflower shop. I created a design using a variety of shapes and styles of plants in coloured pots. This print can be bought by the metre on a variety of different fabrics and used to create your own projects.

Alternatively, ready-made items can be bought. I love the cushion cover that gives an instant lift to the living room. Mix it with solid green cushions in varying textures and tones.

Go bold in the bedroom with a refreshing pot plant duvet cover.

For something more subtle, this pretty wall hanging is perfect. The print co-ordinates nicely with the bamboo slats.
