Gorgeous gourds

This is the time of year to celebrate the gourds. They come in so many different shapes and colours and are a great way of decorating the home.

Herb heaven

During September I dipped into the @ellolovey drawing challenge on Instagram. It's great for getting the creative juices flowing and nice to design something for myself. Many of the designs I create for these drawing challenges also end up being used in my Redbubble shop and in my Spoonflower shop.

One of the prompt words for September was 'herbs' so I drew this collection of my favourite herbs on a textured blue background which you can find on my @cheekyleopard Instagram page. It includes rosemary, sage and dill.

From the initial illustration, I then created a repeat pattern with can be found by-the-metre in my Spoonflower shop as well as on a wide selection of ready-made items.

This print looks great on an apron, available in my Redbubble shop. It makes a great gift for a chef or avid home cook. The print also comes as a spiral notebook, perfect for jotting down inspiring recipes. This would make a great gift combo for the foodie in your life!

I'm loving this cute little zipper purse! It's made from a fabulous sushi print that makes the perfect gift for a food lover or Japanophile.

Sumptuous sushi

 I love sushi and so I decided to create this sushi print for my Spoonflower shop. I've included all my favourites, including one that's not such a favourite. Can you guess which one?!

I've included chopsticks and soy sauce, and a selection of nigiri (where the fish sits on top of the rice) and maki (where the fish and rice is made into a roll). The yellow one is tamago (egg) nigiri where a slice of traditional Japanese omelette sits on top of the rice, held together with a seaweed 'belt'.

I love the sushi cocktail napkins - perfect for a pre-sushi dinner drink.

I'm also rather loving the sushi table runner, perfect for decorating the table of a Japanese feast.
