Tulips

Some pretty pink tulips for a sunny spring day! I created these for a drawing challenge set by @ellolovey on Instagram. She sets a different prompt word for each day of the month and the prompt word for today is 'bulbs'. Tulips are some of my favourite flowers so they inspired this image. I've added a retro-style vase in a pretty turquoise colour and matching retro-inspired wallpaper.

The prompt list for April includes many spring-inspired words.

She also includes a colour palette to help inspire you.

Spring has sprung!

Spring has well and truly sprung! We spent a lovely Easter weekend pootling about, having dinner with family and going for some nice walks. I couldn't believe the overwhelming sense of renewal in the air as all the season's foliage was springing into bloom. I love a bit of colour and homed in on the purples and pinks, as well as the magnolia and blossom that looked so stunning against the blue sky.

Roll on long summer evenings!

On our walk through Bushy Park yesterday we passed a crowd of stags relaxing under a tree. Even they had a sense of renewal, with their new horns growing through. This one was the proudest!

Magic Monday

Happy Easter Monday and how lovely to have another day off work! This morning we headed off to the Isabella Plantation in Richmond park to check out the rhodadendrons and azaleas. They were stunning in the morning sun and their colours even match the Cheeky Leopard pink!
Here's a little taster of what we saw.

Spring Has Sprung

Today was a beautifully sunny, blue-sky day and it truly felt like spring was on it's way! I even have the rosy, sun-kissed cheeks to prove it, or is that due to the glass of wine I've just quaffed?! All the flowers look brighter than I've ever seen them before and the blossom is out in full force.

Anyway, today is my last day in England as I'm returning to Tokyo tomorrow. It is, of course, with some trepidation, but I miss my hubby, as well as my beloved Japan, and need to get on with my life there. I am still very moved and upset by the events that have happened there and am aware that there are still nuclear threats, but at this moment, I need to be there. A Japanese friend of mine sent me this piece from the New Yorker, relating to the events of the past ten days. I wanted to share it and you can read it here.
