Elephant tissue holder

 There's nothing worse than a runny nose and even worse if you don't have a tissue handy to blow it on! This little tissue holder is the perfect companion to a cold or flu. Keep it in your bag and it's always handy when the sniffles attack.

I love an ikat design. Ikat is the weaving process where the pattern is dyed onto the threads before they are woven which creates a blurred effect to the finished design. This zipper purse is made from a cotton fabric that has been printed with an ikat-style design on it. It has been printed in a way that it looks 'weathered' in places. I love the simple colour combo and the strong, geometric design of the print.

Look up close and you can see the weathered effect of the print.

Beautiful bows

Bows are a really popular design motif at the mo so I decided to make a glasses case and a matching zipper purse in this pretty hot pink bow printed fabric. The bows are tiny and so cute!

The bow print glasses case is lightly padded and is lined with a light pink cotton lining. It's the perfect size for oversize sunnies but can also be used for reading glasses.

Easter bunny

It looks like Mr Easter bunny is on his way! This pretty little rabbit purse is made from a pink and white Japanese tenegui fabric that I bought in Tokyo. I love tenegui fabrics. They are used for all sorts of things, from wrapping presents to drying dishes and come in fabulous prints and colours.

I decided to give this purse a lovely little pink floral lining, made from a furoshiki fabric which I also bought in Tokyo. Furoshiki fabrics are used for wrapping presents and also come in pretty designs.

Fabric Friday

Christmas is nearly here and Cheeky Leopard has shut up shop until 27th December, but I'm still playing with fabrics! This week's offering is a lovely little bunch of novelty cottons, ranging from cute penguins, to fun pineapples. I'm planning on making them up into tissue holders, card cases, cosmetic bags and coin purses and they should be available in store very soon.

Penguins have always been a popular fabric for my Cheeky Leopard items and this one is a great little addition. There's a black and white spotty fabric that will be the perfect complimentary lining.

I love this bicycle fabric and the black and grey colourway means that it's a great unisex design.

Pineapples are a fun motif and still a very popular image. These ones are so sweet and make me feel like summer is just around the corner.

Dog fabrics have done very well for me and these poodles are a slight change in style. I love their purple colouring and think a pink and white candy stripe will make a great lining for them.

Pink sausages

I've been busy with the sausage dog fabric again! This time it's a pink dachshund fabric and I've rustled up a little sausage selection to choose from, which you can see below.

Sorry couldn't resist the heading to this post! I do love a pig fabric and decided to make this one up into a coin purse. It matches nicely with the pink and white polka dot coin purse too!

Going cuckoo!

We're going a bit cuckoo here at Cheeky Leopard! Today I move my furniture into my new home, so it's all hands on deck. I can't wait to start unpacking boxes and finding a new home for all my belongings as well as setting up my new studio and finding a home for my rather overwhelming collection of fabrics! I will be posting some photos of my new abode once I'm a bit more settled.
