Patchwork kimono purse

I recently added this cute little purse to my Etsy shop. It's made from vintage Japanese kimono pieces that I've sewn together to make a patchwork.

The main print is a beautiful blossom print on a pale pink ground. It has touches of red in the print and I've added other fabrics in a similar red colour to complement it.

The purse is lightly padded and has a red cotton lining with a matching red zipper closure. There is also a red tassel on the zipper pull.

This purse is big enough to use as a travel bag or as a small makeup bag. It's a great place to store smaller items in your bag and keep them all in a safe place.

Sweet strawberries

I'm feeling fruity today with these juicy additions to my Etsy shop! This fabulous strawberry print comes on a fresh blue and white striped background and was perfect for making into summery zipper pouches, glasses cases and coin purses.

Bright floral purse

 I'm loving this little purse! It's made from a fabulous floral cotton fabric and comes in a vibrant multi colour palette with a lovely lilac cotton lining.

This is the perfect summer purse and is just the right size for storing makeup in. It's lightly padded and made from 100% cotton so machine washable too.

The bright colour makes it easy to find in your bag.

Key fob wristlet

This cute little key fob wristlet is made from a great berry print fabric from Liberty of London. I love the colour combination and the bright colour palette means it's easy to find in your bag.

The main body is made from a stiff interfacing with has been covered with the Liberty fabric and then folded over and top stitched in white thread on either side. There is a sturdy silver D-loop attached and a removable ring attached to that which keys can be added to.

This key fob wristlet  makes a great little gift for someone special.

 

Elephant glasses case

 The other day I mentioned my wild grasses print which is available to buy in my Spoonflower shop. Today I'm going to mention this rather lovely glasses case, made out of my wild grasses print! I regularly order my prints by-the-metre from my Spoonflower shop and love making my prints into lovely items to sell in my Etsy shop.

Lovely leopard

With a name like Cheeky Leopard, you have to love a bit of leopard print and I'm loving this soft pink version that comes on a variety of products in my Etsy shop. I'm especially loving the glasses case and matching key fob wristlet combo.

 I designed this cocktail print for a drawing challenge a while ago and called it 'tipsy and toasty'. It includes spicy cocktails with festive decoration such as candy cane and orange slices with a sprig of holly to finish it off.

Black and silver clutch bag

When I lived in Tokyo I collected a massive selection of obi fabrics from the shrine sales I went to around Tokyo and beyond. The obi is the 'belt' that goes around the kimono and is often brightly coloured with a strong design motif. They are also usually made from a thick, woven fabric which lends itself perfectly to making stunning clutch bags.

This clutch bag is made from two different obi fabrics that I have sewn together. One obi is a silvery-white colour and has a chrysanthemum design woven into it. The other is a stylised black and silver leaf design.

This clutch bag is the perfect accessory for a night out and is big enough to carry phone, keys, makeup etc.

It's fully lined and has a zipper closure to keep everything safe. This clutch would make the perfect gift for a Japanophile.
