Patchwork kimono purse

I recently added this cute little purse to my Etsy shop. It's made from vintage Japanese kimono pieces that I've sewn together to make a patchwork.

The main print is a beautiful blossom print on a pale pink ground. It has touches of red in the print and I've added other fabrics in a similar red colour to complement it.

The purse is lightly padded and has a red cotton lining with a matching red zipper closure. There is also a red tassel on the zipper pull.

This purse is big enough to use as a travel bag or as a small makeup bag. It's a great place to store smaller items in your bag and keep them all in a safe place.

This pretty kimono purse makes a great gift for a Japan lover and is totally unique. Items are wrapped in pink tissue paper and can be sent straight to their recipient with an optional gift message included.

Kimono cuties

These kimono cuties were recently added to my store. Each purse is made from a vibrantly coloured kimono fabric and has a fun bobble clasp. These are the perfect size for small change and credit cards  and they make quite a statement! Each purse has a vibrant red lining to add a flash of colour when the bag is opened.

You can find this stunning trio in my shop here.

The purse above uses multi colour florals with a hint of mint green in the background.

I love the large bold floral on the purse above.

The turquoise of the bobble clasp above compliments the turquoise in the kimono fabric.

Kimono cutie

Here's a little cutie to brighten up a rather soggy English morning! It's one of my small clutch bags made out of a vintage floral kimono fabric that I collected whilst living in Tokyo.

I love the stylised design and the use of bright colour and I decided to use a bright green cotton fabric for the lining. It matches the lovely green flower on the outside kimono fabric. This clutch is big enough to fit phone, keys and makeup and is the perfect accompaniment to a night out.

You can find it in my store here.

Summer butterflies

It's a beautiful sunny day today which I hope means summer is officially on it's way! To celebrate, I just added this stunning kimono clutch to my Etsy store. It is made from a vibrantly coloured child's kimono which has a bold butterfly print in multi color shades on a turquoise ground, and check out the bright red lining. This clutch is the perfect accompaniment to a summer dress - all I need now is the tan!

You can find it here.

Mini clutch

I thought this was a rather vibrant way to start a Tuesday morning! I call these my mini clutches as they are half the size and half the price of the larger ones. They are still just as precious and can hold all the essentials for a night out. I am planning on making some more in the next few days, so watch this space.

You can find this gem on my Etsy store here.

Purple passion

I seem to be attracted to the jewel tones at the moment. This is the latest addition to my Etsy store. It's made from a vibrant purple silk kimono fabric in the ikat style. This means that the threads are dyed with the design before the fabric is woven, which is pretty amazing. The centre of the flower has a touch of red/burgundy and I decided to use a similar colour for the lining fabric.

You can find it in my Etsy store here.
