Palm Springs

A while ago I designed a print for one of the Spoonflower design challenges. The prompt for the challenge was 'Palm Springs' and I designed a 1950s/Mid Century modern print in shades of coral pink and turquoise. Since then, I have cerated a more simple version of the print where I have kept the main images and spaced them out.

The print includes a fabulous 1950s-inspired turquoise car as a well as a modern house, surrounded by cacti and palm trees. The coral pink bakckground gives it a fun, fresh vibe.

This would make a great print as a wallpaper. It comes in many different finishes and has easy-to-use options such as pre-pasted or peel-and-stick. The vinyl wallpaper is great for using in high traffic areas such as the kitchen or hallway.

This print would make great bedding and is a way of adding a splsh of colour to the bedroom. I love the Palm Springs duvet cover made from a cotton sateen fabric. Match it with a soft coral pink paint colour on the walls.

There is also a Palm Springs sheet set available that comes in a variety of sizes and includes a fitted sheet, a loose sheet and two pillow cases.

Another way of adding colour to the home is with this Palm Springs cushion cover. It comes in a variety of shapes and sizes and a cushion pad can be added if needed.

Palm Springs

'Palm Springs' is the latest prompt for the Spoonflower design challenge and this is my entry. It includes Mid-Century architecture and cars surrounded by palm trees and cacti in a pleasing sunset colour palette. You can vote for my design here.

This print would look great as a Palm Springs wallpaper on a feature wall. There are lots of options available, from peel-and-stick to pre-pasted and even a lovely grasscloth version with a fabulous texture.

I love the combo of coral pinks and burnt oranges against the teal and sage colours of the architecture and cars.

Looks great on a feature wall in the bedroom.

The vinyl version is great for high traffic areas such as the kitchen or hallway.

There's even a metallic gold version if you're feeling really bold!

The gold really shines when light hits it.

You can find this design in my Spoonflower shop here.

Cactus creations

I love a cactus print and I love these cactus items which can all be bought in my Etsy shop.

Choose from a selection of large cosmetic bags, small cosmetic bags and a cute coin purse.

The large cactus cosmetic bag is a great size for using as a handbag organiser or travel bag. It's lightly padded and has a green zipper closure. Open the bag to find a bright pink lining.

The small cactus cosmetic bag is great for using as a pencil case.

It's also the perfect size for storing makeup in.

These cuties make a great gift set.

The cactus coin purse is perfect for storing small change in or for using as an EarPod case.

The purse is lightly padded and has a bright pink lining.

Cactus love

I'm loving this cute little cactus print! It makes the perfect print for this lovely little cotton pouch.

This pouch is lightly padded and has a zipper closure to keep everything safe.

Use it as a roomy pencil case for storing all your stationery items in.

It's also the perfect size for a travel bag or handbag organiser. I love the soft pink polka dot lining that matches the flower pots on the cactus print.

The pouch is perfect for using as a travel bag to store all the essentials for a trip away. It can also be used as a cosmetics bag, or as a pouch to store gadgets and chargers.

The bag is lightly padded to protect what's inside and has a green lining and zipper closure to keep your items safe.

Cutie cacti

I'm loving the array of cactus designs that are around at the mo. You can decorate your whole life with a variety of fun prickly cacti. This wallpaper by Betapet goes to the extreme but how fab to use it on a statement wall in a bathroom.

Another statement is this cute cactus rug by Sass and Belle where they have turned spiky into soft and given it a happy smile.

Cheeky Leopard naturally loves the cactus motif and I've used a rather lovely cactus print that I designed for Makower UK. I designed each cactus in a brightly coloured pot and put it on a light green background. For the lining I've used a fun pink and white polka dot. This coin purse is the perfect size for carrying small change or for storing headphones in.

For correspondence or birthday wishes with a difference, this lovely card set by Heleen van den Thillart is perfect with its watercolour effect.

Or you can get creative with this fabulous downloadable cacti clipart at The Ink Nest and apply it to all sorts of items from notebooks to wall art.

There are many lovely cactus items for the home. I love these glass cactus vases by Heaven's Gate Home and Garden. I'm a bit partial to green and blue glass vases anyway, but how fab to have a selection in cactus form too?!

This Cheeky Leopard cactus card case is a fab way to carry credit cards, business cards or travel cards and has a fun pink and white polka dot lining.

Cacti are one of the easiest plants to keep in the home and great for someone who is not so good at remembering to water them! I love creating a little arrangement of three or four of them in differing shapes and sizes and these wooden pots by Minimum Design are a fab simple and modern way of presenting them.

You can even go minuscule and have this pet cactus keyring from Rock n Rose. You can choose from two cactus plants that are super hardy and you only have to water the plant once a week by sitting the base of the capsule in a little water for a few minutes. Simple!

This Cheeky Leopard glasses case is the ultimate summery accessory and perfect for storing oversized sunnies in. It also has a pink and white polka dot lining that matches the pink of the pots on the cactus print.
