Purple and gold

One of my recent fave Friday fabrics featured a stunning vintage 1960s coat in vibrant shades of purple and gold.

I have now made it up into a stunning clutch bag and you can find it on my Etsy shop here.

Fave fabric Friday

This Friday I have homed in on a rather vibrant purple and gold fabric. It is actually a 1960s coat that I picked up at a vintage fair in the UK. For a while I thought I might actually wear it, but have realised I don't lead that kind of lifestyle! Instead, I'm going to make it into a vibrant clutch bag. I am thinking of combining it with a pretty grey and purple bird kimono lining. I love the idea of having a flash of bird when the bag is opened.

Indian inspiration

Friday's favourite fabric consisted of a selection of pieces that I bought whist in India last year. I was quite productive over the weekend and here is the first little creation from that selection. It's a melange of items that I have picked up on my travels, using a vibrant purple and gold sari fabric from India, combined with a purple Japanese obi fabric. I decided to add a trim of terracotta gross grain ribbon from France to create an accent, which has also been picked up in the colour of the lining.

You can find it in my Etsy store here.

Fave Fabric Friday

I couldn't decide on one fabric this week, but have chosen a bunch that I bought in India. I'm embarrassed to say I bought them almost a year ago, but haven't done anything with them yet. I have often looked at them and had a play, but they were then put away again without being used. It's now a new year and I have been getting creative, combining the Indian fabrics with coloured lace and vibrant linings. I will hopefully have some juicy new clutch bags to show soon!
