Golden clutch bag

Check out this stunner! It's a cute clutch bag made from a vintage Japanese obi fabric. The obi is the 'belt' that goes around the kimono and often comes in vibrant colours and bold designs. This one is no exception with its stunning geometric motif and terracotta and metallic gold colours.

The clutch bag is the perfect size for a night out and is big enough to fit phone, keys and makeup.

It has a zipper closure to keep everything safe and is lightly padded to protect its contents. It's lined in a burgundy cotton fabric.

This could also be used as a travel bag or handbag organiser, to store smaller items in your bag.

This clutch bag makes a great gift for a Japan lover. All items are gift wrapped in pink tissue paper and can be sent straight to their recipient with an optional gift message included.

Japanese obi clutch bag

The obi is the 'belt' that goes around the kimono and they often come in brightly woven fabrics with bold design motifs. Their sturdy fabric and stunning designs mean they are perfect for making into clutch bags.

This clutch bag is made from a beautiful woven red and pink obi fabric with a stork motif.

It's perfect for using as a clutch bag or evening purse.

Look up close and you will see the detail included and the combination of stork motif with traditional Japanese geometric designs.

The bag is fully lined with a red cotton lining and has a matching pink tassel on the zipper pull.

Soft gold

This soft gold clutch was recently added to my store. It is made from a metallic gold Japanese obi with a fabulous modern geometric design on it. I think it would look stunning with this simple yet elegant Josie Natori dress which was inspired by 1930s Hollywood.

You can find the clutch here.

Tokyo jinja

I am honoured to say that my clutch bags were recently mentioned on Tokyo Jinja. It is a beautiful blog written by Jacqueline Wein, an antiques dealer and design historian living in Japan. She was given the slate blue and black maple leaf bag as a present, and then bought another one for a friend in shades of pink and red, both of which are shown below.

For more Asian adventures, check out her beautiful blog here.

Pantone colour of the year

Apparently Pantone recently announced its colour of the year for 2013 - emerald green. To celebrate this, Little Paper Dog ( aka Michelle from Utah) posted some beautiful green items on her blog and my clutch bag was one of them! You can see it here.
