Little ones

I recently created this cute collection for Makower UK. It's called Little Ones and consists of woodland animals in a soft colour palette.

This design is called 'Hugs' and includes mother and baby foxes, bunnies, hedgehogs and squirrels in a soft peach colour. I used a sketchy style for these animals.

This design is called 'Bunnies' and includes rabbits in several poses with foliage and tiny hearts on a coral stripe background.

This coral 'Ducks' design is so cute and includes pretty daisies amongst the ducks.

'Foliage' is a really versatile print and can be used for a number of fabric projects, Pair it with designs from this collection or use it for bag making or dressmaking.

Cute baby 'Deer' are silhouetted against a soft brown background and surrounded by stylised foliage.

This 'Etched' design is created in a sketchy style and includes deer, foxes and bunnies.

These 'Stars' are on a grey/brown background and are a great print for decorating a child's bedroom.

The 'Hugs' design on cream is a great neutral colour and could work for both baby boys and baby girls.

The 'Bunnies' on the yellow and cream stripe are lovely and fresh and gender neutral.

The 'Ducks' work well on a yellow background.

The 'Foliage' looks lovely and fresh on a cream background and includes ferns, florals and tiny butterflies.

The 'Etched' design also comes in a green outline on a cream background.

The 'Stars' design also comes in a teal version.

The 'Hugs' design looks so pretty on this teal background.

Easter treats

Easter Day is nearly here and all the shops are selling wonderful Easter cards and decorations as well as the very tempting array of easter eggs and chocolates.

I love this fresh, simple red and white rabbit print. The glasses case can also be used as a phone case and I like to use the coin purse for storing my earphones in.

I thought it was a fun idea to combine chickens with eggs to create this gift combo. The chicken cotton pouch can be used as a cosmetic bag, travel bag or pencil case, and the egg coin purse is big enough for coins and credit cards.

These two green and white bunny items are so sweet and make the perfect Easter gift combo.

The tissue holder is a handy item to carry in your bag and the pouch makes a great travel bag or fun pencil case.

If bunnies and eggs are not your thing, then we also have sheep which are not so obviously Easter, but scream of spring. Both the glasses case/phone case and coin purse come with a fun blue and white polka dot lining.

Pink bunnies

I'm not usually someone to gravitate towards pink bunnies, but I couldn't resist these cuties.

The fabric is a furoshiki fabric that I bought in Tokyo back in November. A furoshiki is a traditional Japanese wrapping cloth used to wrap gifts and other goods. Click here to see a diagram illustrating the many different uses of this versatile cloth.

Sometimes the furoshiki fabric can be a family heirloom and the tradition is that you give a gift to someone wrapped in the furoshiki and they then give you the furoshiki back. Unfortunately a few of my non-Japanese friends didn't know this tradition and were given gifts in this manner. They kept the cloth thinking what a lovely bonus, only then having to experience a rather awkward exchange with the gift-giver having to ask for the furoshiki back….

Anyway, these cuties have now been made into a very sweet coin purse with a matching pink and cream floral lining. The perfect storage place for all your small change, credit cards or headphones.

Dust Bunnies

Easter is almost here and with it comes the endless stream of pastel-coloured eggs, chicks and bunnies. I love Hut Up's slightly sinister but strangely cute version of rabbits made from felt. They are based in Berlin and create some fab felted animals which you can check out on their website. You can also find them at the gorgeous Selvedge Drygoods store.
