Goodbye London

A few weeks ago I wrote about a 'London' design group I'd worked on for Makower UK. 

Since then, I have made some of the fabrics up into coin purses and a cosmetic bag and here are the results! I'm pretty happy with them all and am looking forward to making up more in time for the Jubilee and Olympics that will both be happening in London this summer. After a fab few weeks in London, I am heading back to Tokyo tomorrow, so will be watching all the events from afar.

Rule Britannia

Since arriving back in London, I've been very aware of the frenzy building up towards the Queen's Jubilee in June and the Olympics in August. There is an amazing array of memorabilia out there, a lot of which is slightly tacky. These designs by Michelle Mason however, are lovely! She has a strong illustrative and typographic style and creates scenes of London in a fun and quirky way. My faves are the graphic cushions which show London icons on hardwearing cotton in fresh, modern colours.

London calling

This year is a big year for London, with the upcoming Queen's Jubilee in June and then the Olympics in August. With this in mind, I recently designed a group of London designs for Makower UK and here is the result.
