Some new additions

A few weeks ago I mentioned on my blog that I had bought some fab new cotton fabrics in Tokyo.
Most of the pieces I bought are furoshiki or tenegui fabrics and each one was chosen because it had a fun element to it. The torii gates have been very popular in the past, so I was glad to find more of that, and who could resist the dancing ninjas?!

I have finally started making them up into cosmetic bags and here is an example of a few of them.
The prints are so much fun to work with and I enjoyed finding the right lining to match each fabric.
They have all been added to my store recently and you can find them here. I use mine as a cosmetic bag, but they could also be used as a handbag organiser or as a gadget pouch for chargers etc.

I love the torii gate fabric on this purse. It has an orange and white polka dot lining.
Torii gates can be found at the entrance to a shinto shrine and are often painted a bright orange colour.

The dancing ninjas are so sweet! I decided to give them a black and white polka dot lining.

This Fuji fabric purse is so much fun and it was given a red and white polka dot lining to match the sun peeking out from behind the cloud.

New fabrics

I am now back in London after a fab week in Tokyo. The International Bazaar went well and I got to catch up with a few friends (sadly not all the ones I'd have loved to) and sampled all the wonderful food I have missed since leaving Tokyo.

Needless to say, I went pretty crazy with the fabric shopping too and came back laden with goodies. Here is just a little sample of some of the pieces I bought.

I love this Fuji-inspired print.

Who could resist a cute dancing ninja?!

The torii gates were a popular print last year and I managed to find more.

Red daruma dolls.

The scale of these yellow fans is quite large and would be great on a clutch bag.

Kokeshi dolls are so sweet.

Father's Day gift ideas

Father's Day is fast-approaching and much as we love them, dads can often be hard to buy prezzies for. Maybe this is the answer - a funky gadget pouch! It may not be for everyone, but I have put together a selection of funky, more manly prints with complimentary linings. It's the perfect place for storing phone, chargers and other gadgets that are necessary for the metrosexual pop in your life.

You can find them in my store here.

Ninja love

I was recently contacted by a French woman who asked me to make a custom clutch bag for her upcoming wedding. She had seen my ninja cosmetic bag and wanted something similar to use on her wedding day - quite an unusual request! It turns out that her future husband is an aikibudo teacher and this was the perfect accessory for their wedding. The clutch bag has now been made up, and is winging its way to Toulon in France. I can't wait to see the wedding photos!
