Red kimono clutch bag

 I'm absolutely loving this recent addition to my Etsy shop! It's a clutch bag made from vintage Japanese kimono fabrics in shades of red, pink and orange. I have a wide selection of kimono pieces in my collection and this is the perfect project for bringing them all together to create something truly unique and different. This would be a great wedding clutch or evening purse for a summer party.

The clutch bag is lightly padded and has a red lining and matching red zipper. 

I'm loving the addition of the red tassel attached to the zipper pull.

The kimono pieces are stitched together and then top stitched to help keep them neat and flat.

This pink bird fabric is one of my favourites.

Each side of the clutch bag has a different combination of fabrics.

Summer style

 The weather is slowly warming up and it's the perfect time to start planning your summer style. I created this bright outfit to compliment the red cotton kimono clutch bag in my Etsy store. The yellow of the skirt and blue of the top were picked out from accent colours in the bag.

Seeing red

It's countdown time to christmas day and time is running out! There's still time to pick up one of these beautifully festive clutch bags though. Each one is made from a vibrant red or orange fabric with a flash of metallic gold to really celebrate the season.

Ruby reds

We do love a bit of red here at Cheeky Leopard and I'm always on the lookout for a sumptuous ruby to add to the collection. These beauties have recently been created and added to my store and I love them! They are both made from Japanese fabrics that are quite different to each other but both just as stunning. These are the smaller size clutch bag that I do, and I call them my Little Gems. They are big enough to fit the essentials for a night out and fit comfortably in the palm of your hand.

The clutch bag below is made from a Japanese obi fabric and is woven, using a decorative design of deep red and gold on a red ground. I used a red cotton fabric for the lining.

The clutch bag below is made from a beautifully soft kimono fabric with a red and cream blossom design that has touches of turquoise. I decided to pick out the turquoise colour and use it as the lining colour to compliment the outer fabric.
