Folk fantastic

I do love a folk print and this one comes in a fabulously bright colour palette. This folk print cotton pouch is perfect for using as a pencil case or as a cosmetic bag or gadget pouch.

It has a white zipper closure and is fully lined in a dark pink cotton fabric.

This makes the perfect gift for someone special.

Alternatively you can buy this print by-the-metre in my Spoonflower shop.

Damask reimagined

I created this print a while ago for my Spoonflower shop. I wanted to create a traditional damask print that had some fun hidden elements. I love traditional folk designs and feel that their images lend themselves perfectly to being incorporated into a damask print, so chose a simple bird motif. On closer look, you can see there are quite a few birds nestled within the design. How many can you see?

This black and white colour palette makes quite a strong statement and works really well as a cushion cover. I could see it making a nice combination with other scatter cushions in solid bright jewel tones.

The turquoise and white colour palette is much softer and prettier.

It looks great on napkins, the perfect addition to a summer table setting.

Milan Fashion Week - Alberta Feretti

Milan fashion week is now in full force. I love a bit of colour and was highly impressed with Alberta Ferreti's Spring 2014 ready-to-wear collection, which gave a heavy nod towards the folkloric look. She was inspired by Southern Italy, but it also has a South American aesthetic, with it's embroidered flowers and stunning colour palette.
