Gorgeous green clutch bags

I have a few green clutch bags in my Etsy store and these two are my favourites. It's amazing how different two greens can look. One is made from a mint green Chinese satin and the other is made from a vibrant chartreuse satin.

This Chinese satin clutch has a pretty blossom motif. I chose a matching taffeta lining and added a vibrant green tassel to the zipper pull.

This chartreuse clutch bag is made from my wild grasses print, available to buy by the yard in my Spoonflower shop. I matched the taffeta lining to the green of the grasses design and the tassel is rather pleasingly the same colour as the lining.

Obi clutch bag

This pretty clutch bag is made from a stunning Japanese obi fabric. The obi is the 'belt' that goes around the kimono and is often made from woven fabric and comes in vibrant colours and bold designs which lend themselves perfectly to making clutch bags. With this evening purse I matched the lining and tassel to the green of the leaves in the outer design. The purse is also lightly padded to protect its contents. This is a limited edition purse and makes a great gift for someone special.

J'adore violet!

Anyone who's a regular to this blog or to my Etsy store will know that I'm a tad partial to the colour purple! I've had a stunning purple floral kimono sitting in my collection for a while and decided to take the plunge and cut it up - a rather upsetting experience! Luckily, I have made two lovely items out of it, both of which you can see below, and you can find them in my store here.

The kimono fabric has a lovely big flower on it.
I decided to place it in the bottom right hand corner of this clutch bag.

This bag has a detachable chain handle so that you can use it as a clutch bag or as a handbag.
I used a hot pink kimono fabric for the lining.

This handbag is made from two different kimono fabrics and has a long woven strap, designed to be worn across the body. It can also be worn over the shoulder.

It has a hidden magnetic closure to keep the bag closed and everything safe.
Check out that hot pink lining!

Irresistible little gems

I really enjoy making my little clutch bags, they are small and sweet and just the right size for a night on the town, out for a posh meal, or as a gift for someone special. Each of these clutches is made from obi fabrics that I collected from antique markets in Tokyo recently. I always home in on the bright colours and you can't get much brighter than these. Note the hot pink lining in most of them! My favourite is the magenta pink clutch with the bright yellow lining. I matched the yellow to the yellow in the motif on the outside of the bag. These clutches are half the size of the large clutch bags and just over half the price. Each one is quite a gem!

You can find them in my store here.

This small clutch uses the same fabric I used for the large clutch bag.

I love the magenta pink of this clutch bag and matched the lining to the yellow motif on the outside.

The green on this clutch bag is so vibrant! The hot pink lining just had to be done.

This obi fabric on this clutch bag is stunning. I love the big red stylised poppy motif.

The finished result

My fave fabric on friday 10th Jan was a hand screen printed fabric I did myself. It has now been made up into a fetching little clutch which you can find in my Etsy store here.

Juicy juicy!

I've just added this rather stunning collection of clutch bags to my Etsy store. All the clutches are hand made by me and the fabrics used to make them were bought on my recent trip to Tokyo. They would make a fab christmas present for someone special, or a lovely little gift to yourself!

You can find them on my store here.

Tuesday delight

I've just about recovered from the ravages of doing the fair at the weekend, as well as moving items into our new home, and thought I would celebrate by adding this beauty to my Etsy store. It's made from a multi color kimono fabric and has touches of printed gold. Pretty stunning!

You can find it in my store here.

P.S. I'll be returning to Tokyo tomorrow. I'm sad to leave the UK, but excited about seeing my hubby again and enjoying my last few months in Tokyo before moving back to the UK for good in July!
