A Vietnamese gem

I love using my Japanese fabrics, but every now and then I like to try something different. This clutch bag is made from a beautiful Vietnamese fabric that I bought from one of the hill tribes in Sapa, Northern Vietnam. I couldn't give up on the kimono aspect completely so used a red, white and blue kimono fabric for the lining.

You can find it on my Etsy store here.

A ray of sunshine

Something to brighten up your day! This is one of the latest clutches from Cheeky Leopard and it incorporates a bright yellow dragonfly satin collected on my travels in Vietnam, mixed with a Japanese obi.

You can find it here.

Happy New Year!

I'm a bit late in the new year wishes, mainly due to the fact that I was away for New Year in Vietnam. We had an amazing time, soaking up the sights and sounds of an intriguing country, as well as sampling the scrumptious food on offer. Needless to say, I was on the hunt for fabrics while I was there, and found some in the town of Hoi An, famous for its tailor shops but also for its history in silk trading. I managed to find some beautiful pieces to bring back with me and am looking forward to creating some Vietnamese/Japanese clutch bag hybrids. Watch this space!
