East meets West

London ceramicist Bodo Sperlein has teamed up with the Japanese ceramic company Nikko to create a beautiful collection of tableware where East meets West. The shapes are inspired by Japanese blossom, but the soft pink and aqua palette on white gives it a modern twist.

This Voyage range is the result of an exchange between two tea loving cultures, combining Eastern and Western silhouettes and rituals and creating clean, graphic outlines.

The Blossom range takes the blossom shape synonymous with Japan and pares it down to a fluid, abstract shape.

Sperlein's trademark dash of colour has been used in the Cloud range where dusky pink, aqua or indigo has been applied to the centre of each plate and bowl to create the illusion of a pool or a wash of colour.
