Juicy Japanese floral

A while ago I designed this print for Makower UK as part of a collection called Hikari. I wanted to use bright jewel tone colours for this collection and I'm loving the result. It sits on a luscious purple background and has touches of metallic gold to make it zing.

Look how fabulous it looks on this zipper pouch! Now available in my Etsy store.

It makes the perfect gift for a Japanophile or floral-lover.

The bag is lightly padded and is fully lined in a contrasting light purple lining.

Japanese obi clutch bag

The obi is the 'belt' that goes around the kimono and they often come in brightly woven fabrics with bold design motifs. Their sturdy fabric and stunning designs mean they are perfect for making into clutch bags.

This clutch bag is made from a beautiful woven red and pink obi fabric with a stork motif.

It's perfect for using as a clutch bag or evening purse.

Look up close and you will see the detail included and the combination of stork motif with traditional Japanese geometric designs.

The bag is fully lined with a red cotton lining and has a matching pink tassel on the zipper pull.

Red kimono clutch bag

Wow! This red clutch bag is super stunning. It's made from a vintage Japanese cotton kimono fabric and makes the perfect gift for a friend.

The turquoise tassel is attached to the zipper pull and has been matched to the turquoise accents in the kimono fabric.

This pouch is the perfect size for all the essentials for a night out.

The bag is fully lined with a matching red cotton lining.

New addition

I made this rather lovely handbag a while ago but have only just got around to photographing it and listing it on my shop! I have to say, I love it and am tempted to keep it for myself.......

It's made from a stunning multi colour and metallic decorative vintage Japanese obi fabric.
The obi is the thick 'belt' that goes around the kimono and it is often heavily decorative and colourful. The one I used for this bag was found at an antique market in Tokyo and I felt that it needed a bright red lining for a flash of colour when the bag is opened. It's held closed with a magnetic snap closure and there are two weathered red canvas straps that fit over the shoulder or in the hand.

This bag makes quite a statement! You can find it in my store here.
