Sewing addict

I've been creating some fun, bright sewing-inspired designs for my Spoonflower shop and think they will appeal to any sewing addict! I love sewing and spend a lot of time creating items on the sewing machine, so I tapped into my love of that and all things haberdashery to create these fun bright prints.

This sewing machine design was the first one I created and I included a turquoise blue sewing machine, fabric swatches, scissors and thread as well as a mug of tea and a chocolate chip cookie - essential fuel for a keen sewer!

The main design inspired me to create some co-ordinates to go with it. The first one was a needle and thread design which also includes pins and buttons.

The scissor print has been designed in a set layout and includes a variety of shapes and sizes in the same bright colour palette as the other two designs.

Sewing Love

This week's Spoonflower design challenge is called 'Home Hobbies'. My home hobby and my work both involve sewing and so I naturally had to do a sewing design for this challenge. I fell very lucky to work at something that I also enjoy.

In this design I've used a colour palette of red, orange, blue and pink and have included sewing items such as scissors, thread and pins as well as the obligatory mug of tea and a few biscuits to keep me going.

This design could be used for home accessories such as cushion covers or a tablecloth, or you could go really bold and use it as a wallpaper print in your sewing room.

Write a letter

I found theses gorgeous letter sets the other day by M Design. It makes me want to go "old school" and correspond with pen and paper like the old days. I love the bright, naively drawn images on the envelopes and the way that the image is carried through onto the writing paper. Now I just need to find someone to write to!
