Neil Conley is a British designer who produces two and three dimensional pieces, focusing mainly on environmental awareness. In response to the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010, he created a series of snow domes, each containing a hand carved miniature of a species directly affected by the disaster. Snow domes are usually light hearted items, but these are darkly beautiful. When you shake them up the black 'snow' creates the feeling of an oil slick.
