I have a wide selection of fabric scraps for sale in my Etsy shop. I've divided them up into colour stories and this one comes in shades of pink, purple and cream. Each one is a vintage kimono fabric piece, some are florals, some are geometric and some are plain. They are perfect for using sewing projects such as quilting or patchwork.

Sari fabric scraps
I have a great selection of fabric scraps in my Etsy shop and they are great for using in sewing projects such as quilting or dress making. This selection consists of three pretty sari fabrics in shades of pink, purple and terracotta. They are soft and fine and each has a unique border design.
This purple and pink sari fabric is an ikat design which means that the threads are dyed with the design before they are woven. The main body of the fabric is a stunning purple colour with a geometric design running through it.
The border is a stunning hot pink colour that contrasts beautifully with the purple.
The terracotta sari fabric also has an ikat design, a simple cream geo motif with a stripe.
It also has a border, in the same colour with a simple geo edging on either side.
The hot pink sari fabric has a geometric design printed onto it in orange and purple colours.
The border to this sari fabric has touches of metallic gold.
This sari fabric selection makes a great gift for a sewing lover. The fabrics come sealed in a plastic sleeve and gift wrapped in pink tissue paper. It can be sent straight to its recipient with an optional gift message included.

Disco diva sewing projects
Calling all disco divas! I have some fabulous prints available in my Spoonflower shop, which are great for using in sewing projects. From roller skates to disco balls, I've got you covered!
This roller-skate print looks great on black and would make a great tote bag for carrying skates in.
There are a wide variety of fabrics to choose from and the Cypress cotton canvas fabric is great for making into tote bags as they are durable and hardwearing.
The disco balls design is a fun print for any disco event. This one has a black background and would look great on the performance velvet fabric.
If you're feeling really brave, why not cover an armchair in it? The velvet would work so well as an upholstery fabric and it would make a great statement in any disco kitchen.
The roller skate print also comes on a dark blue background and would look great on a pair of leggings at the roller disco. Pair it with a sequinned tube top and you're good to go!
The Sport Lycra fabric would be perfect for making into leggings. It has an advanced moisture-wicking finish and 4-way stretch.
The disco ball print also comes on a light blue background. If you want something a little more low-key, use it as an accessory for the home, such as scatter cushions or throw blankets.
The minky fabric is perfect for this kind of project as it's plush and warm for snuggly softness.

Sweet cherries
This cherry print is the perfect print for a summer sewing project with its bright red, juicy cherries on a fresh green background. You can just imagine picking one up and popping it into your mouth.
You can buy this cherry print in my Spoonflower shop on a wide variety of fabric choices, from lighter weights such as gauze and chiffon, to heavier weight fabric such as canvas or velvet.
This cherry print would look great on a summer skirt. Spoonflower has a choice of fabrics that would be perfect for this sewing pattern, including cotton lawn or cotton sateen.
I'm looking forward to making this print into bags and purse for my Etsy shop. Watch this space!

Hexagon heaven
I've been staying at my parent's house for the last few months whilst I find a new home to buy. They have been amazingly supportive through a difficult time in my life and we all enjoy spending time together. After dinner, we often sit down to watch something on the TV and mum has inspired me to take up sewing whilst watching TV! She has spent the last few months building up a collection of hexagons with the idea of making them into a quilt, so I also decided to give it a go too and this is what I've done so far. I find it amazingly therapeutic, but I'm not quite sure what I'm going to make it into yet! Any ideas?
I start by cutting out paper templates. The best paper for this seems to be thin printer paper, and you can buy a special plastic template from crafting stores. You can fit about 11 hexagons on one sheet.
I then pin each paper template to the back side of the fabric of my choice and cut round it.
I then tack the hexagon to the paper template. Some people pin their edges, but I prefer to tack around the edges of the hexagon as it gives it a crisp edge.
Then sew the hexagons together using a slip stitch. My mum suggests sewing them in batches of seven to make it easier.
I chose a colour palette of turquoise, coral, cream and brown, in a variety of prints.
Once you have a good selection of sewn pieces, you can sew them all together. It is only after you have done this that the paper templates and tacked sewing can be removed. I'm looking forward to that day, but it may be far off. I have a lot more to make!

More business card holders
The other day I posted about my new project - business card cases. It seems that I have gone a bit over the top since then and have been busy putting together fabric combos using my off-cuts. I have some interesting combinations here. Now I just need to get sewing!
