Kimono cutie

Here's another kimono cutie I've just added to my Etsy shop. It's a decorative kimono scarf made from vintage Japanese kimono fabrics that I've pieced together. I love using a variety of fabrics within one scarf and often like to add a decorative border to the ends of the scarf in a contrasting coloured fabric.

The main body of the scarf is made from a gorgeously soft silk fabric in shades of red, yellow and white on a deep blue background. There is a floral pattern that includes stylised chrysanthemums, maple leaves and blossom.

The scarf can be worn in many different ways. I like to drape it loosely around my neck.

The border design is made from a vibrant red and white geometric design, made up of circles and dots. It also includes floral elements.

This scarf can be worn in many different ways and is a great way of adding colour to an outfit.

All my scarves are wrapped in pink tissue paper and sent with a Cheeky Leopard postcard. They make a great gift for someone special and can be sent straight to their recipient with an optional gift message included.

Kimono style

I recently added this stunner to my Etsy shop. It's a decorative scarf made from two different vintage Japanese kimono fabrics that I have pieced together to create a totally unique item.

The main section of the scarf uses a silk kimono fabric in soft shades of pinks, blue and greens with a floral motif.

I've added a geometric design kimono to the ends of the scarf in shades of deep pink and white which adds extra drama to the scarf.

The scarf is long and can be tied many different ways. I'm loving this oversized bow.

Look up close and you will see the detail involved in the floral print, with a mixture of blossoms, chrysanthemums and maple leaves - all traditional Japanese design motifs.

The scarf looks great loosely draped around the neck and can accessorise so many different outfits.

The strong print at each end of the scarf adds drama.

This scarf makes a great gift for a Japan lover.

Orange delight

Orange is such a happy colour and I'm in love with this orange scarf, made from two vintage kimono fabrics pieced together. I chose a colour palette of pink and orange and wanted to match the orange of the kimono with the fan motif on the pink kimono.

This silk scarf is double sided and makes a great addition to any outfit.

I love the injection of green on the maple leaves that rest on the orange fan motif.

This scarf can be wrapped once around the neck or it could be tied in a big bow for wow factor. The perfect gift for someone special.

Slate blue scarf

Slate blue is a lovely subtle colour and perfect for accessorising with a wide variety of colours, from crisp summery whites to rich winter berry tones. This pretty slate blue scarf makes a great gift for someone special.

It looks great loosely draped around the neck.

It's made from a combination of vintage Japanese kimono fabrics that have been pieced together.

One of the kimono pieces is made from a stylised floral design.

Purple passion

I've been busy making more silk scarves and the latest addition to my store is this purple stunner! It was such fun finding the right fabrics for this item. I have a lot of beautiful kimono pieces in my stash and there were so many I could have used. Not all of them made it, but the ones that didn't will be used for another scarf.

This scarf is a long and skinny decorative scarf and wraps around the neck several times.

The scarf is double-sided so whichever way you wear it, there will be a stunning design on show. I love the oversize stylised floral below.

I've used a combination of different styles and love the way that they are all pulled together through colour.

The scarf looks beautiful around the neck.

You can find it in my store here.

Kimono magic

I've just added a piece of magic to my store. This stunning decorative silk scarf made from vintage kimono fabric swatches from my collection, pieced together to create a patchwork effect.

I decided to use a pleasing colour palette of terracotta, cream and black in a variety of fabric weights and textures.

The scarf is double-sided, so that either way you arrange it, a stunning design will be showing.

I love the combination of floral fabrics with geometric fabrics, and I've also included a solid black silk to help break up the colours a bit.

The scarf can be worn in many different ways and it's fun to play with different combinations.

It matches perfectly with the kimono handbag below.

Kimono scarf

Here's another juicy number that's just been added to my store. It's a double-sided silk scarf made from vintage Japanese kimono pieces sewn together. This time I've chosen a variety of purple hues and floral designs that compliment each other beautifully.

The scarf can be tied or draped around the neck in a variety of ways and because this scarf is double-sided, it can change look dramatically depending on how you use it and which pattern you want showing.

I love the addition of the vibrant yellow and juicy greens at each end of the scarf.

You can find this stunner in my store here.
