Gorgeous green

I do love a shot of green and when I saw these fab boots in TX Maxx recently I thought 'Could I get away with these?!' They are made from a Chinese-inspired design in a fabulous emerald green satin fabric with a woven bird motif in gold and silver thread.

I then thought what a wonderful match they would make with my Cheeky Leopard clutch bag which comes in the same colours! It is also a fab emerald green colour and has a gold woven bird design. This fabric is a vintage Japanese obi fabric that I bought when I lived in Tokyo. The obi is the 'belt' that goes around the kimono and often comes in vibrant colours and designs.

This clutch goes beautifully with a little black dress and what a great accessory the boots would make with the bag! Quite an outfit. As you can see, it's big enough to fit all the essentials for a night out and has a magnetic snap closure.

What I love about this bird design is that it is very stylised and draws inspiration from origami bird designs. I also love the placement of the birds, as if in flight.

Now I just need to find an event to wear them to!

Little sweetie

This little sweetie has just been added to my store. It's a handbag made from a woven Japanese medallion obi fabric in shades of burgundy, emerald green, light pink and metallic gold. The purse has a pretty wooden bobble detail on the clasp.

I love the green colour in the design and decided to match the lining to that colour.

The handbag has a long detachable chain handle that can be worn over the shoulder or across the body.

You can find it in my store here.

Fabric Friday

There's nothing like a spot of hot pink and tumultuous turquoise to brighten your day! I bought these two stunning fabrics last week and can't wait to make them up into some gloriously bright clutch bags. They both have a butterfly motif and each will be given a suitably bright lining to compliment the outer fabric.

The turquoise blue clutch bag will have a hot pink lining.

The hot pink clutch bag will have a bright turquoise blue lining.

These fabrics match a bag that I already have in my store. It's a beautiful emerald green fabric and also has a butterfly motif. You can find it here.

New gems

At the weekend there was steam coming out of my sewing machine as I ploughed through lots of new bag designs. I have so many ideas and just not enough time to do them all. I did produce some juicy new gems though! These handbags are such stunning colours and I love to add a brazen lining for a flash of colour when the bag is opened. You can find them in my store here.

This stunning green handbag is made from an embroidered Indian silk.

I gave it a turquoise lining.

This handbag is also made from Indian embroidered silk and is magenta pink and blue.

These handbags have short chain handles but I can change them to long chains if preferred.

This turquoise bag is also Indian embroidered silk and has a hot pink lining.

I love the decorative paisley design embroidered onto it.

The colours and design of the kimono fabric I used for this handbag are so modern.

It has a magenta pink satin lining to match the outer colour.

Bold butterflies

I'm slowly adding some more iPad sleeves to my store and this is the latest addition, a rather bold and beautiful green and gold number. It is made from a Japanese vintage obi (the 'belt' that goes round the kimono) and has a rather stunning butterfly motif on it.

You can find it in my store here.

Emerald clutch

This vibrant emerald clutch is the latest addition to my Etsy store. I love the silver geo design and then the flash of turquoise lining when the bag is opened.

You can find it in my store here.

A fresh start

There's nothing like a new year to get the creative juices flowing. I have just finished making some new items to add to my Etsy store and this is the first of a few new clutch bags. It is made from a vintage Japanese woven obi fabric in a beautiful emerald and gold decorative design. I decided to give it a mustard yellow lining as a bright contrast.

You can find it in my Etsy store here.

Pantone colour of the year

Apparently Pantone recently announced its colour of the year for 2013 - emerald green. To celebrate this, Little Paper Dog ( aka Michelle from Utah) posted some beautiful green items on her blog and my clutch bag was one of them! You can see it here.
