New notebooks

I recently decided to add some new items to my store, these gorgeous little notebooks! I designed them myself and I decided to use images that have been popular in my store. The items that sell the best are the Boston Terrier fabrics and cat designs, so I decided to use those and create some sweet book covers. It was a lot of fun designing them.

Both the notepads are A5 in size and they are made from recycled card on the outside with a staple at the spine to hold the pages together. There are 48 lined pages so that you can jot down your ideas and thoughts. These books could be used as a journal, a diary or something to keep lists in!

The Boston Terrier design is on a yellow ground and has tonal tossed hearts surrounding the dogs' heads. This makes a great match with the Boston Terrier coin purse.

Look closer at the cat design and you will see that some of them are wearing pink glasses or bow ties. The design is on a pale grey ground and would make a great match with the cat cosmetic bag.

Look inside the front cover of each notebook and you will find a space to personalise your book.

Hello kitty!

We do love a kitty cat print here at Cheek Leopard and this lovely one has just been added to my store. I found the fabric in Tokyo at a fab shop called Tomato and I just had to have it. I love the little cat heads and the fact that there are a combination styles on a deep purple ground. Some of the heads are coloured, some are just back and some are just a gold silhouette. So far I have made a cosmetic bag, tissue holder and tote bag, and each one has a complimentary black and white cotton circle lining. You can find them in my store here.

Fabric Friday

It's Fabric Friday time and today I decided to make a trip to the Knitting and Stitching Show at Olympia as I needed a bit of a fabric fix! It's a great show for getting inspiration for new designs and seeing what's out there, and I also saw a lot of designs that I had worked on for Makower. Of course, the main reason for going to the show was to stock up on fabrics, and that's what I did! I'd obviously had a bit of a barren phase fabric-wise as I ended up coming home with a rather large selection. Here's a little taster.

My favourite stall there is The Eternal Maker, a mother and daughter run store based on the South coast of England. They specialise in unique and quirky fabrics as well as stocking haberdashery, notions, paper crafts and buttons.

I loved their selection of animal prints, especially the birds and foxes.

Yellows are very popular right now and these ones are lovely and fresh.

I couldn't resist the quirky cat heads and will make it up into a cosmetic bag with the yellow geo as a contrasting lining. A little project for the weekend perhaps?

Elephants are popular and these ones are really sweet, with a matching polka dot for the lining.

I really liked the subtle gold on these three geometric designs and may incorporate them into a clutch bag design.
