Teotihuacan is a vast Mexican archaeological complex northeast of Mexico City. Running down the middle of the site, which was once a flourishing pre-Columbian city, is the Avenue of the Dead. It links the Temple of Quetzalcoatl, the Pyramid of the Moon and the Pyramid of the Sun, the latter two with panoramic views from their summits. We headed there this morning to check it and and see the views and it was fab! Luckily we got there early before the crowds arrived and the sun got hot. It was great to see remains of a long lost culture and to imagine it in its time when it would have been vibrantly painted in blues, greens and reds. The walk to the top of the Sun Pyramid was trying, but well worth it when we saw the view from the top.
