Totally tropical toile

The latest design challenge for Spoonflower is called 'Toile with a twist' and I decided to use a tropical theme for my entry, calling it Tropical Toile. I've included zebras and leopards surrounded by tropical foliage in a fresh green and white colour palette. You can vote for my design here.

This print would look great as a wallpaper. Spoonflower offers a range of different wallpaper options from pre-pasted, peel-and-stick and vinyl, to more premium finishes such as a textured grasscloth or stunning metallic finishes.

Look up close and you can see the hand-drawn effect of the design. I added a light wash to areas of the design to give it some depth.

It would look great on a statement wall in the bedroom, and if you really love the print, you could buy it as a duvet cover with matching sheets too!

The vinyl version is wipe-clean and perfect for hight traffic areas such as the kitchen or in the hallway.

How stunning is this metallic silver version?!

See how it glows when the light shines on it.

Vote for this design here. Voting closes June 3rd.

Mid-Century modern florals

One of the recent Spoonflower Design Challenges was to design a print using three colours from their cotton solids range - navy, fog and desert sun. I had a lot of fun designing a floral print for this challenge, inspired by mid-century modern florals.

The print looks great on a cushion cover that can be bought in my Spoonflower shop.

I liked the print so much I decided to try it in another colour palette using pink, blue and mustard with a hint of green.

This would look great on a duvet cover.

I used the same colour palette but tried it on a cream background.

It looks great as a minky throw, perfect for keeping warm and smart on long winter nights.
