I went to a shrine sale on sunday and found some juicy pickings. I couldn't resist buying a gorgeous old kimono. I think the woman I bought it from thought I was mad wanting it, so sold it to me for 500 yen (about £3). I love the way it is pieced together with a whole melange of different types of fabric but the way it has weathered means that they all seem to work in harmony. I also loved this basket made up of papier mache kimono pieces. Very inspiring and maybe a little project to set myself some time....
